The original Cologne
I have used this brand since my teen years in Panamá. I also have wornthe Roger et Galet which is the French version of the "Water from Cologne"or best known as Kölnisch Wasser. The word cologne which is used more generically, derived from this product. It is a great product. Very refreshing, and not too pungent in it's aroma. It is my "Summer Cologne".I recommend it to anyone looking for a mild, subtle, refreshing and rejuvenating feel on a hot summer day.

A Fragrance Treasure for Many Years
When I was growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, I could find 4711 by Muelhens for Men and Women Eau de Cologne at any drugstore and many other stores. Somehow in these days of fads and constant change, it seems to have fallen out of fashion--and availability--in this country. Yet the briskly refreshing with some hints of romance of 4711 continues. I recently had a craving for this fragrance even though I hadn't smelled it for many years. I just knew I was tired of bouncing around the different fragrances over the years. I wanted something that I could wear as my signature scent. Nothing overpowering but lovely and distinctive. I was delighted to open the bottle to catch my first whiff of this classic fragrance, which has been around since the 18th century (orginally created by a Carthusian monk as a wedding gift for a newly married couple from the Muelhen family of Cologne, Germany). Ah! It was like coming home. Clean, bright, brisk and romantic all at the same time. I bought the 4711...

Found Heaven in 4711
At last I have found the object of my desire....a bottle of 4711! Fabulous scent, fresh, vibrant and refreshing. Undescribable fragrance...a little bit of this, a little bit of that, but a completely unique and original aroma. First discovered 4711 in 1983 in "Germany" in EPCOT Center in Orlando, Florida. Have been searching since. Thank goodness for Amazon! Many friends who travel in Europe love it too. "Even the bottle is beutiful!"

Just as I remember!!
My grandmother used to wear this perfume all the time when I was little and I just loved the lemony scent. Now that I have it as an adult, it's even better and more complex than I ever knew. There are very strong citrus notes, but there is also a touch of sandalwood and many other soft fragrances that all meld together into a light, pleasing scent. I only wish the scent lasted longer on!!

Eau De Cologne-4711 Original, My Favorite the one I always wear, for years and years my Family have been using the original 4711 by Muelhens, Made in Germany, my grandfather always had a bottle with him and he would give them as Gifts. This cologne with it's Citrus aromatic Fragrance goes back to the 18th Century and during the course of it, the Fragrance became increasingly popular. Smells so fresh with such Lemony Citrus Scent, everytime I wear it people always stop me (specially women) and ask me for the name of what I have onThe German Navy During World War II issued vast amounts of 4711 Perfume to the submariners of the U-Boat Fleet. As they were limited facilities and few opportunities for bathing the Perfume would be use in attempt to improve the odour aboard the vessel. 4711 Cologne - Wonderful!
I have been using 4711 cologne since was in college--and that's a LONG time ago! It is so refreshing and a perfect light fragrance for both men and women. In fact it started out as a man's cologne. I had been hoarding my last bottle, only using it for "SPECIAL" occasions when I found it again on e-Bay. My life is once again complete and I am using the cologne whenever I want! Looooooove this stuff.
Purchased some years ago, been looking for it ever since. Thrilled to locate it again.The scent is very distinct and more 'derived from nature' than other fragrances. You could probably call it "earthy". They seem to have changed the formula to increase the duration- to make it last longer- but I haven't noticed anything negative about this.Not like I care about this one way or the other- my only concern was the liquid inside- but the label could be done better. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but the label I recall from years ago was a heavy paper stock with matte finish and the gold "medallions" were embossed. This label is cheaper, tackier. Looks like something you'd find in a truck stop convenience store, which is kind of unfortunate as this is a very classy product.It truly is gender neutral. A lot of colognes/scents are advertised as unisex, but almost always they trend towards one side or another... a bit too flowery and feminine, or a...

A classic in every sense of the word
4711 is arguably the "original" cologne, with the exception of Farina, produced in Cologne, Germany for over 100 years. It has a light citrus scent with lavender and herbal notes. It is extremely light, unlike more modern fragrances. It does linger when you wear it, fading to a barely perceptible note on the skin, making it almost impossible to over apply. Because of the light, predominantly citrus profile, it is both suitable for men and women. It is not cloying at all. It has been one of my summertime favorites for years. For the price, it is an exceptional value.

This Mustela Eau de Soin is basically a discreet non-alcohol eau de toilette.The main notes are light floral, sweet orange blossom, madeleine cookies and the lingering finish is reminiscent of rose loukoum and cotton candy. It is light and appropriate for girls and boys, but stays on all day.I grew up in France and always associated this delicious scent to the sweet smell of babies. I had then forgotten about this scent and had that idea that babies had a strange, almost plasticy smell. I have since realized that that unattractive smell actually comes from the materials used in disposable diapers.My job now revolves around using my nose so I am quite sensitive to smells. When I had a daughter myself, I decided to use clothes diapers and never experienced that plasticy, fake-floral smell. I began my Eau de Cologne exploration a luxurious incarnation, Chanel’s Eau de Cologne, which is part of the Les Exclusifs line, sold only at Chanel boutiques, but also available online. But instead of red, white, sparkling, or rose, there is eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and pure perfume. Hermes makes a handful of colognes: Eau d’Orange Verte, Eau de Pamplemousse Rose, and Eau de Gentiane Blanche. Guerlain has multiple cologne options, but my favorites are Eau de Guerlain, which is meant to evoke spring in Provence, and Eau de Cedrat, which is a refreshing lemon-lime citrus. The original “Eau de Cologne” was created by Giovanni Maria Farina, an Italian perfume maker who lived in the German city of Koln, which the French call “Cologne.
